The Role As Patent Attorney/ Senior Patent Attorney you will be part of our existing legal team based in Utrecht. You will support IP across Genmab’s global organization. Together with the scientists and project managers at the research and development hub in Utrecht and the Intellectual property team in Copenhagen you will be a pivotal player in nurturing Genmab’s growing IP. As Patent Attorney you will report to the senior Director of IPR and will have a dedicated administrator to collaborate with. These are both based off-site in Copenhagen. Key Accountabilities Draft patent applications, Prosecute patent applications Perform freedom-to-operate analysis Monitor third party patent rights Perform searches Review presentations Take legal action if relevant Provide advice and guidance on IP considerations Ensure alignment of IP strategy with business and commercial needs of projects Perform Due Diligence Provide IP support on specific Genmab projects (products or technologies) including being member of relevant Compound Development Team(s) and project groups Skills & Experience Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements: PhD or Master’s within Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Human Biology, Immunology, Oncology or related subject 4-5 years’ experience with IP within the Life Science area You have hands on experience with drafting patent applications You have passed or is working towards passing the European Qualifying Examination (EQE) In-house experience is preferred but not a requirement Experience of US patent law and procedure is highly preferred Throughout Genmab, the company language is English. For success in this position you need to be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills.
