I have a unique and exciting permanent opportunity for a proven M&A Specialist to join one of the world's most diversified business groups. The company employs over 70,000 people.
The company, which is involved with a range of business activities including import export, trading, healthcare, banking and textiles, turns over in excess of $50bn and was established by the company's founders nearly 70 years ago. They have advanced the business from being a family run textiles and chemicals firm to an integrated player across industrial, consumer, and TMT verticals.
As part of the company's innovation-led global expansion to achieve exponential multi-billion dollar growth in the next 24 months, they require a Head of M&A to lead their strategy across UK and Europe. They recognize post Covid-19 there is huge potential to expand in every continent via M&A activity so the role will therefore require the successful applicant to assess pipeline deal flow and convert deals accordingly.
Whilst this role is newly-created and working autonomously, you will be expected to grow a team within Amsterdam further down the line, and long term also in N. America and other areas internationally. In this capacity, you will also play a mentorship role to key M&A personnel remotely and then over time directly, ensuring constant improvement in their performance and skills,
Your duties encompass the entire merger and acquisition life-cycle with a strong mix of operational and strategic aspects across workforce planning, learning and development, talent management, performance management, organizational change, on boarding, engagement, and reward.
You will be leading merger and acquisition transactions through cross-functional due diligence organization. You will work through diligence processes, and gather and leverage integration planning inputs in order to support integration planning and valuation inputs.
You will also gather important information regarding risks and opportunities for impending and ongoing M&A activities, translating this information into fact-based and well-reasoned insights on the valuation and structural impact of the merger or acquisition.
You will assist with modeling and financial analysis of impending and on-going transactions. You will also refine and complete market research and strategic fit analyses previously initiated by junior M&A personnel.
You will enable detailed target analysis and financial model lead creation using KPIs and other variables as sales drivers in order to estimate revenue and profitability of merger or acquisition over a multi-year project period. The operating models that you develop will be highly flexible in order to be able to manoeuver through multiple scenarios for the purpose of enabling any necessary and abrupt changes on a real-time basis.
Key stakeholders will include members of the legal department and top leadership in the business development department in making final approvals of M&A transactions as well as delivering well communicated, balanced, and comprehensive analyses for each stage of merger and acquisition transactions for the business's executives and key stakeholders.
You must have at least 10 years experience with structuring financing to support acquisitions as well as raising debt, equity and capital for investment opportunities.
You will be able to demonstrate an in-depth operational and valuation financial modeling experience and an ability to generate new business through the exploitation of existent relationships as well as the development of new relationships in a business's industry.
You will be required to draft regular reports and make presentations to the business's executives, stakeholders, and collaborating personnel for final informed decision-making. These reports must therefore, be clear, easy to understand, convincing, exhaustive, engaging, and tailored to suit various audiences.
